A Yukon driver was arrested on charges of manslaughter and DUI in a crash that claimed the life of a bicyclist last Friday night in Oklahoma City.

According to Oklahoma City police, officers responded to the crash in the 8600 block of N.W. 10th Street at about 11:30 p.m. Friday. A bicyclist was struck by a car, driven by 37-year-old Angela Renea Myers, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers say the bicyclist was in the outside lane when he was hit by Myers' car. The lights on the bicycle were still on and illuminating as officers arrived at the scene.

Myers told police she did not see the bicyclist. Officers say they could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage on Myers and she was unsteady on her feet.

Police say Myers also failed a field sobriety test. She was then taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on charges of first-degree manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police have not released the identity of the bicyclist.
