A 15-year steak and catfish tradition is about to end in Edmond.

The Steak and Catfish Barn at I-35 North and Waterloo Road will close its doors for good at the end of this month.

Dino Smalley and his wife Maria Vitale opened the restaurant in 1998. It has catered to those in the construction industry who have been building homes in Edmond for decades.

The restaurant is known all over the world because it's been featured on cable travel and food channels. The couple says they plan to move to south Italy, where Maria grew up, to retire.

Smalley says they'll miss all their customers and friends, but they won't miss the 90-hour work weeks.

"We just need to decompress and relax a little bit," said Smalley.  "No regrets."
