A Council Hill man was killed in a late-night ATV wreck in McIntosh County. It happened at 11:24 p.m. Friday on a gravel road near Lake Eufaula State Park, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report.

Bill Stauffer III was driving a 2012 Arctic Cat four-wheeler on 4150 Road just south of 1060 Road when the ATV ran off the road and overturned. The 42-year-old driver died of head injuries.

The investigating OHP trooper says Stauffer was impaired by alcohol and driving too fast for road conditions.
