Two Wagoner County jail escapees rounded up earlier this week now face additional charges. Larry Cotton and Mickey Staggs jumped a jailer and escaped on Monday night but were back behind bars within 15 hours.

Now Cotton, 35, and Staggs, 38, each have been charged with four felony counts related to their escape and attack on detention officer Billy Hagen.

The men are charged with escape from jail, assault and battery on a detention officer, kidnapping that officer and robbing him of his keys.

Court documents show the men asked Hagen to come into their cell, reporting that the toilet was overflowing. When Hagen came in, Cotton punched him and put him in a choke hold, according to an affidavit of probable cause. While Staggs helped hold the jailer down, the men robbed him of his keys and radio then ran out the jail kitchen door, the affidavit states.

Hagan told investigators he lost consciousness and woke up with a bump on his head.
