People get their cars hit in parking lots all the time, but an Edmond woman says she had no average fender bender.

Hilary Maddox said she and her husband were parked at Quail Springs Mall for only 45 minutes Friday to get her wedding ring inspected. When they came out to the parking lot, she saw her car in shambles.

"They hit it, ripped it off and drove around it and left," Maddox said.

Maddox says she's furious that someone ran into her car and took off.

"You do something like this, then you just leave, I mean shame on you."

A quick trip at Quail Springs Mall to see a jeweler left her without a back bumper.

"Ripped off all the way over to the side sticking straight out, it left one light bulb, and it works," she said.

Maddox said she got no help from Mall security last Friday afternoon. She said a guard told her that her hit car was the worst hit-and-run he had ever seen.

"Until the police came, they were telling me how great their cameras were, 'oh they were so good you can see Devon Tower clearly,'" Maddox said.

"And then the police man later tells us, well they didn't get anything on camera."

Quail Springs mall management said it's against their policy to show their surveillance footage.

Marketing manager Jeannette Webster-Smith said in a statement:

"Our mall security did everything right. He assisted her, waited for police, then turned it over. The incident was very unfortunate, but no one was inside the car when it happened and no one was injured."

Now, Maddox will have to cough up a $1,000 deductible to fix her 2000 Pontiac Grand AM. She says this comes at the worst possible time with her husband being furloughed at Tinker Air Force Base.

"And you know they say when it rains, it pours, and it looks like it's going to rain," Maddox said.

Maddox says her bumper was covered with white paint scratches, and she says she'll never park at Quail Springs Mall again.

Oklahoma City Police is investigating. So far, they don't have any suspects.
