A man from Inola, Oklahoma, is in serious condition after authorities say he fell into the roadway and was then hit by a car Saturday night.

It happened at about 10:30 p.m. on County Road North South 4170 and East West 590, near Inola in Rogers County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Gabriel Haywood was stumbling around as he was walking, when he fell into the roadway and was then struck by a 1998 Honda driven by 68-year-old Terence G. Sylvester.

Haywood was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa in serious condition, suffering from head, trunk, and internal injuries.
