An Oklahoma man is in a northwest Arkansas jail after Bella Vista Police said he threatened to kill officers as they arrested him.

Kirkland Blackbear, 37, of Watonga was booked into the Benton County jail on a number of complaints including resisting arrest, public intoxication and terroristic threatening.

Police were sent to a home Wednesday after getting a call of a man holding a knife to another man's throat. By the time officers got to the home, Blackbear had run into the woods.

Bella Vista Police told KFSM, the CBS affiliate in Fort Smith, officers began a search, confronted Blackbear, who threatened to kill the officers and charged at them holding a knife.

Officers used a taser and several non-lethal rounds from an officer's gun to subdue Blackbear.
