The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said searchers have recovered the body of Brendan Earl, 18, of Tulsa, who drowned Thursday evening at Lake Country Swim Beach on Lake Keystone.

OHP said just at 4:45 p.m., three Tulsa teens were at the beach when Earl went under the water, came back up and went under again.

Earl's body was recovered at 8 p.m. in 8 feet of water, about 30 feet from shore, with the help of a piece of equipment called a side scanner.

Makia Graves, 17, was riding on the shoulders of Kayla Barnett, 18,  when Barnett waded into the water.  Barnett stepped into a drop-off, which caused Graves to start struggling and Barnett to go under, according to OHP.

Troopers said Earl jumped in the water to help and drowned in the process.

An unknown bystander pulled Graves and Barnett from the water. Both had to be resuscitated before they were taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital and are listed in fair condition, OHP said.
