A man shot by an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper in Tulsa early Tuesday is now in jail on a complaint of assault and battery on a peace officer.

The OHP said the trooper shot Kermit Farrish, 33, of Tulsa in the leg when he got into a scuffle with the trooper during a traffic stop at 11th and Garnett. The patrol says Farrish attempted to take the trooper's gun.

The OHP identified the trooper as Shiloh Hall, 29, who became a trooper in 2007.

Farrish was taken to a Tulsa hospital to be treated for his wound and was then booked into jail.
