Logan County Couple Accused Of Restraining Boy With Handcuffs

Child neglect charges are filed against a couple accused of handcuffing a 7-year-old boy.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office says Thomas O'Brien and Tonya Bengtson used the cuffs to control him. Logan County Sheriff's Office Investigators and a Department of Human Services Child Welfare Case Worker responded to the scene.

Investigators say he had apparently been getting into trouble for theft and taking food.

He was found June 24 inside their Guthrie home along with other kids being supervised by a 16-year-old sibling.

DHS continues to investigate the case.
