Firefighters from Oklahoma City and Richland are trying to extinguish what remains of a once raging fire at a house near W. Britton and Cemetery Road.

The fire started around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday in the 13000 block of Blue Quail Road. The address is technically in Yukon, but Oklahoma City firefighters responded to the call.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 flew over the scene. Pilot Jim Gardner captured video of smoke and flames pouring from the roof of the home. The flames became so intense at one point, firefighters went into defensive mode. That means they all left the structure because it was too dangerous to fight the fire from inside the house.

About 20 minutes later, firefighters went back into offensive mode, meaning they moved closer to the flames as the fire grew smaller.

Despite firefighters' efforts, it appears the home was destroyed; but the flames did not spread to nearby trees.

It's not known how the fire started. It's not believed anyone was inside at the time.
