CLEVELAND COUNTY, Oklahoma -

People in Oklahoma City, Moore and Norman turned in more than 200 pounds of medicine during the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office prescription drug round-up.

The roundup was held June 29 at four different sites, and netted 230 pounds of prescription drugs. All the drugs are taken to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and destroyed.

The program first began in 2009 and allows people to safely discard expired and unused prescription medicines. In the last year alone, more than 860 pounds of unwanted prescriptions have been collected.
