Parents were on edge after seeing Facebook posts about a traveling saleswoman going door-to-door in several metro neighborhoods. The posts warned the that woman who was selling educational materials actually had connections to human trafficking.

From Yukon to Edmond to Tulsa, reports have been coming in to local police agencies and the human trafficking task for headed by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics.

Caroline Northenor lives in the Copperfield addition in Edmond where the woman apparently came through.

"She asked how many kids I had, how old they were. I believe she asked what type of grades they were making in school," explained Northenor. "Just a lot of personal information."

She didn't become suspicious of the woman until after she saw the Facebook posts.

News 9 checked with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and several other agencies about the allegations. So far, these traveling saleswomen have turned out to be just that. There is no evidence that they are part of a human trafficking ring.

Human trafficking groups, however, do use similar tactics to target children for human trafficking so law enforcement officers said parents should keep reporting anything suspicious in their neighborhoods. Northenor agrees.

"Just on this street I think we have 15-20 kids that are out here playing basketball. I mean they're just outside all day every day so we're all protective. All of us moms are watching out."
