Oklahoma City Police are hoping the public will lead them to a suspected shoplifter accused of pulling a knife on loss prevention officers at a Walmart store.

On June 8, security spotted two men walking through the Walmart at Interstate 240 and Santa Fe. One of the men grabbed some food, ate it, then left the store without paying for the items.

Security approached the man outside and escorted him into an office to question him. The security officers said the man pulled out a pocket knife, unfolded it and pointed it at them. He told all four security guards in the office to back up.

The man ran outside and got into a car driven by a woman. They drove away before police arrived.

The female driver later called police and said she met the suspect and his friend near Rose State College in Midwest City. They offered to give her money for gas if she drove them to their home in Oklahoma City. She agreed, and also agreed to stop at the Walmart on the way.

The woman said when the suspect and his friend got back into the car, the "older one" began talking about how he pulled a knife on someone in the store. The woman said she became frightened when the men began discussing the incident, and she soon dropped them off along the highway.

Police have released a picture of the man who pulled the knife. It was taken from surveillance video at the store. Anyone who has information about the suspect's identity is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (405) 235-7300. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
