A volunteer firefighter for the Mustang Fire Department has been arrested for domestic abuse.

Robert Frank Plumlee Jr. turned himself in Tuesday after a complaint of abuse was filed against him.

The victim claimed the incident occurred on June 16, and that Plumlee struck her in the face and head.

"The victim had obvious injuries on her face and knots on the back of her head," Mustang Police Detective Cami McNeil said.

Police have responded to two additional domestic-related calls at Plumlee's home near S.W. 59th Street and Czech Hall in Mustang. In both of those police reports, however, Plumlee was listed as the alleged victim of domestic abuse, not the perpetrator.

News 9 was unable to discover Plumlee's current position with the Mustang Fire Department in light of this incident. Mustang Fire Chief Carl Hickman said he could not comment on personnel issues, but did say all Mustang firefighters, including volunteers, go through a background check.
