When Kevin Myhaver was fighting stage four cancer, little Shiloh his Pomeranian, never left his side.

"She was with him more than any of us," said Kevin's step-son Travis Kinder. "I mean it's hard not to develop an attachment to an animal when it's your constant companion through something like that."

Shiloh even may have saved Kevin's life when she alerted his wife when Kevin went unconscious.

"He got up early one morning and went septic and passed out," Travis recalls.

But Tuesday someone broke into their house, ransacked it, stole electronics and jewelry. And the family says they believe the thieves took Shiloh too.

"Whenever he came home and she was gone, of course he was going to be a mess. I mean who wouldn't be."

The family and neighbors hung fliers, searched the neighborhood, but no sign of Shiloh. So now they're hoping a $1,000 reward will help bring her home. No questions asked.

"Honestly we just want the dog back."
