Investigators with the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office arrested a Cleveland County man on Monday for child pornography.

David Edward Kennedy, 26, was arrested at his home outside Norman on one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of violating the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

A search warrant also was issued for Kennedy's former residence in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City Police Department assisted the task force in serving the warrant.

According to investigators, computer items were found at both locations. The computer items were sent to the OSBI Computer Crimes Unit for further examination and to determine the total number of images, and the possible identities of victims.

The case was initiated by a Guthrie police officer who investigates the distribution of child pornography over the Internet. During the investigation, Kennedy distributed multiple child pornography videos to the officer. The case was referred to the Attorney General's Office for further investigation.

"Child pornography violates, exploits and endangers young victims," Attorney General Scott Pruitt said. "This criminal activity will not be tolerated and the AG's Office will continue assisting investigators and local law enforcement to help safeguard Oklahoma families."

The Oklahoma Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force includes more than 60 partner agencies, including the OSBI and the Attorney General's Office. Members are specially trained to investigate the exploitation of children through the use of technology.
