A Jenks teenager lost his life in a Memorial Day weekend motorcycle crash a few miles outside Jay Friday night. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol investigated the Delaware County fatality collision.

Troopers say Victor Allyn Sharp, 19, was eastbound on County Road East 400 northwest of Jay at about 10:30 p.m. when he passed another vehicle at a high rate of speed. He then failed to make a curve to the left, ran off the road and struck a fence pole.

Sharp was pronounced dead at the Grove Integris Hospital.

Sharp was in apparently normal condition at the time of the wreck, according to the collision report. Cause of the collision is listed as unsafe speed on a turn.

He wasn't wearing a helmet, the report states.
