A gripping recollection of what happened as this week's deadly tornado hit Plaza Towers Elementary from Principal Amy Simpson. That happened at a press conference Friday afternoon as teachers also shared their stories.

Teachers from Briarwood Elementary are also sharing their amazing stories from the storm.

News 9 walked several miles to meet up with Stacey Montgomery, a pre-k teacher who risked her life to save her students. It was worth that trek. When we got there, we witnessed a very emotional reunion.

Complete Coverage: May 2013 Tornado Outbreak

Parents are calling Stacey Montgomery a hero. Her class took their tornado precautions by lining up in the hallway. But when the tornado blew open the door, Stacey ran to pull it shut. She held onto the door until the wind pulled it from her grip and then tore it completely off the roof of the building.

Stacey says as she ran back toward the children, the tornado pulled her shoes off of her feet. That's when Stacey just laid over the children and began to pray.

Stacey says at this point, her students are saying they only remember "Ms. Montgomery talking to Jesus".
