A man and a woman are in custody after a police chase early Friday across Wagoner and Rogers counties.

Coweta Police say the chase began in their community, when a police officer attempted to stop a van for having a "bogus license plate" just after 3:30 a.m.

The van sped off, leading police out of Wagoner County into Rogers County and into Inola.

At one point during the chase, the van stopped and backed into a Coweta Police patrol car, before driving off again. Police say the officer was not injured.

The chase ended when the van stopped an Inola railroad crossing because of a passing freight train.

Police arrested the couple on complaints of eluding and assault with a dangerous weapon and took the two to the Wagoner County jail.
