Star Thunder player Kevin Durant spent some time answering phones at News 9 Wednesday afternoon, making yet another effort to help the victims of Monday's deadly EF-5 tornado.

Durant worked at the Red Cross phone bank, taking donations from callers. Durant told News 9 Sports Director Dean Blevins he wanted to do something to help the people who lost their homes when the monster twister ripped across Moore and south Oklahoma City. The star player says he knows people are feeling saddened and overwhelmed, but he wanted them to know they have a lot of support.

"I know it's tough right now. Keep the faith, everybody's praying for you."

This isn't the only action Durant has taken to help tornado victims. His family foundation donated $1 million to American Red Cross disaster relief efforts.

Durant says he isn't doing this to get his name in the news. He says Oklahoma is now his home, and he only wants to help the people who have always supported him and the team.

"I want nothing from this, I don't want publicity, I don't want people to tell me I'm the nicest guy in the world. I was just doing it to help these people out."
