A judge ruled Tuesday that the men charged in the Good Friday shootings can be tried separately.

Prosecutors say Jacob England and Alvin Watts drove around North Tulsa in April 2012 and randomly shot five black people, killing three of them.

Both have pleaded not guilty to murder and hate crimes charges.

Defense attorneys also wanted the judge to throw out statements Watts and England made after the arrests, as well as the arrests themselves, but the judge denied that.
