The beautiful Saturday weather was great timing for the first Cherry Street Farmers Market of the season.

From spring flowers to spring vegetables, the market welcomed spring with style.

Tulsa's largest and oldest farmers market has more than 80 vendors.

"We've been around since 1946, we've been making cheese for the past 20 years, and last year we won first place in the world cheese competition for our cheese, Country Guevara," vendor Shawn Duffy said.

Duffy makes cheese in Krebs, and he's trying out Cherry Street for the first time.

"Heard a lot of good things about the Cherry Street Farmers Market, that it's the place to be to get out and promote your product, meet a lot of people and everything, so we thought we'd go ahead and give it a try," Duffy said.

This yarn maker says the Cherry Street market is one of the best, and she's been to ones in Ecuador, Russia and Austria.

"I've been to many markets in the world, that's my favorite thing to do when we're in a foreign country, and this is an exceptional market," Mary Ann Malchow said.

It's got a little something for everyone, and it's a great example of why buy local.

The market is open every Saturday from 7-11 a.m.
