An Oklahoma City man was arrested Thursday night, after police found him passed out behind the wheel of a running truck on Interstate 44, while a toddler was inside the vehicle.

According to police, just after 11 p.m., officers saw a 1995 Chevrolet Pickup parked in the southbound lanes of I-44 near N.W. 23rd Street with its engine running. Police say the truck's headlights were off, but the brake lights were on, and other cars were racing around it.

The driver, later identified as 31-year-old Quienton Baldwin, was passed out under the steering wheel, while a 16-month-old baby was sitting in the passenger seat in a normal seatbelt, according to police. The keys were still in the vehicle.

Baldwin's actions were slow and his speech was slurred after officers woke him up. When Baldwin stepped out of the vehicle, police say he was unsteady on his feet and officers could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverages on his person.

Police also found two small compacted pieces of marijuana with a total weight of .97 grams in Baldwin's pocket.

Baldwin was arrested on several charges, including child endangerment, actual physical control of motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and possession of marijuana.

The child was placed in protective custody of the DHS.
