Russell Westbrook poured in 27 points while Kevin Durant scored 25, but it was an unlikely hero that made the difference as the Thunder defeated the Spurs 100-88 Thursday night in Oklahoma City.

Derek Fisher, recently removed from missing 19 straight shots over an eight-game period, was on fire.  Fisher nailed four 3-pointers in the first half as the Thunder built a large lead.  He didn't get as many looks in the second half, but still finished with 17 points on 6-8 shooting.

OKC (55-20) held a 21-18 lead with less than two minutes remaining in the first quarter when Fisher caught fire.  Fish found space in the corner and Nick Collison found him for his first 3-ball, while the next trip down the court was a repeat performance. Fisher stood in the corner and this time Reggie Jackson found him for the open look.  The back to back 3s helped the Thunder open up a 29-18 lead after the first.

After Durant buried a jumper to start the second-quarter scoring, it was back to Fisher in the corner.  The lead grew to 39-21 after two more Fisher 3-pointers and the crowd couldn't get enough.  The lead grew as high as 41-21 until San Antonio finally started to hit shots.

The Spurs (56-20) battled back, cutting the halftime lead to 52-44.  After Oklahoma City increased its lead back up to 19 in the third quarter, the Spurs closed the period on an 11-2 run to cut the defecit to just 77-71.

San Antonio put together a 13-2 run to make the score just 87-84 with 5:50 left to play, but Westbrook and Durant quickly put the train back on its tracks.  Westbrook knocked down four free throws and Durant nailed a 3-ball to put OKC back in control with a 94-86 lead at the 3:16 mark.

The Thunder shot 46.3 percent from the field but rained in 12-24 3-pointers.  San Antonio shot just 39.8 percent overall and hit just 8-21 (38.1 percent) from downtown.  The Thunder blocked 13 shots to the Spurs' five.

The win moves the Thunder into a tie with San Antonio in the loss column as the two powerhouses continue to battle it out for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.  Durant finished three points below his season average.  With seven games remaining, his lead over New York's Carmelo Anthony is down to just .1 points per game.
