Suspicious Substance Found In Downtown OKC Turns Out To Be Baby Powder

Authorities confirmed that a suspicious white, powdery substance found in downtown Oklahoma City Thursday morning has been determined as baby powder.

Authorities confirmed that a suspicious white, powdery substance found in downtown Oklahoma City Thursday morning has been determined as baby powder.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, the suspicious white powder was found on the fourth floor of the First National Center, located at 120 N. Robinson in Oklahoma City just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities say the powder was found in an envelope sent to an attorney's office in the building.

Hazmat crews responded to the scene. Authorities later determined that it was actually baby powder found in the envelope. They did not find a threatening note in the envelope.

No evacuations were ordered during the investigation.

Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD was over the scene. Pilot Jim Gardner reports that Robinson Avenue from Sheridan Ave. to 3rd Street was shut down, as crews investigated the suspicious white powder.
