Two senior executives at Chesapeake Energy announced Wednesday that they will be stepping down.

Thomas Price, senior vice president of corporate relations, and Henry Hood, senior vice president of land, will leave the Oklahoma City-based oil and gas company on May 3. Price, 60, has worked for Chesapeake since 1992, while Hood has been with the company since 1995. Hood, 52, also served as general counsel from 2006 until last September.

Acting CEO Steve Dixon announced the news in an email to employees. In the message, Dixon expressed his "mixed emotions" at the departure of the long-serving executives.

"They have been valued members of our leadership team and have played key roles in the historic success of our company," Dixon wrote.

Price and Hood weren't the only prominent Chesapeake executives to leave this week. Monday was Aubrey McClendon's last day with the company he co-founded.
