An 18-year-old woman is in jail after an April Fools' Day prank escalated to violence, the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The Sheriff's Office said Tori Wheeler told deputies it all started when she, as a joke, told her boyfriend she was pregnant.

The boyfriend, Derek Bauer, got angry, Wheeler told deputies. She said she then produced a knife to threaten him, she claimed as a joke. That's when Bauer threatened to call police, the Sheriff's Office said.

Wheeler reportedly lost her temper and cut Bauer on the neck. The Sheriff's Office said he needed seven stitches and also had two bite marks, apparently sustained during the fight with his girlfriend.

Wheeler was arrested and booked into the Wagoner County jail on complaints of assault with a deadly weapon, the Sheriff's Office said.
