A suspected drunken driver, who is also accused of leaving the scene of an accident in northwest Oklahoma City, was arrested after he led police officers on a pursuit Wednesday afternoon.

According to Oklahoma City police, at about 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the report of a hit-and-run crash at N.W. 10th Street and May Avenue. The caller stated that a green Chevy Tahoe had crashed into several vehicles and left the scene. The Tahoe then went southbound on May.

Officers tried to pull over the suspect vehicle near S.W. 10th and May, however, the driver refused to stop, that's when the pursuit began.

The suspect vehicle eventually pulled into the driveway of a home in the 700 block of S.W.31st Street. The suspect, later identified as 35-year-old Marcos Antonio Veles, resisted arrest. At one point, officer had to use pepper spray to get Veles under control.

Officers say they noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from Veles' breath. Veles told police he had "a few beers," and had also been smoking marijuana.

According to police, two drivers were transported to the hospital after Veles crashed into their vehicles at N.W. 10th and May.

Veles was transported to the hospital to get checked out, and then booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on several charges, including leaving scene of injury accident, failure to yield for emergency vehicles, and DUI.
