Oklahoma State freshman point guard Marcus Smart has been named a second-team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. He is the sixth Cowboy to be named All-America by the NABC and the first second-team selection since Byron Houston in 1992.

Smart led Oklahoma State in scoring (15.4 ppg), assists (4.2 apg) and steals (3.0 spg). His performance on the court this season propelled the Cowboys to a 24-9 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in three seasons.

Other members of the NABC Coaches' Division I All-America Second Team are Miami's Shane Larkin, Ben McLemore of Kansas, Duke's Mason Plumlee and Cody Zeller of Indiana. The first-team honorees are Michigan's Trey Burke, Doug McDermott of Creighton, Georgetown's Otto Porter, Victor Oladipo of Indiana and Gonzaga's Kelly Olynyk.

Along with being named the Big 12 Player and Freshman of the Year, as well as the recipient of the Integris Wayman Tisdale Award for the nation's top freshman, Smart has also been named an All-American by Sporting News (first team) and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (second team). He is a finalist for Cousy Award, given to the nation's top point guard, as well as the Wooden Award and the Robertson Trophy, both presented to the national player of the year.
