Firefighters Put Out Three Alarm Apartment Fire In NW OKC

The fire broke out at the Mt. Vernon Apartments at 4014 N. Meridian Avenue near N.W. 39th Street just after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Firefighters quickly put out a three alarm apartment fire in northwest Oklahoma City Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out at the Mt. Vernon Apartments at 4014 N. Meridian Avenue near N.W. 39th Street just after 2 p.m. Firefighters contained the fire to the basement of the complex where the laundry room is located.

Firefighters encountered a dry hydrant and were forced to pull water from another hydrant several blocks away at N.W. 42nd Street.

Twenty-four units within the complex were impacted by the fire and the Red Cross has made a shelter available to victims.

No word on what caused the fire. No injuries are reported.
