A judge ruled Wednesday a man suspected of killing a 56-year-old woman in her southwest Oklahoma City home will stand trial.

Dartangan Cotton, 22, is charged with first-degree murder for the killing of Paula Martin. Police say Cotton broke into Martin's house on September 6, 2011. A neighbor told police she saw Cotton sitting in Martin's car in her driveway before he entered her house through the garage. The neighbor called police.

Police entered the home in the 500 block of S.W. 48th Street and found Martin dead in her bedroom. While officers were searching the house, Cotton, who was hiding in the attic, fell through the ceiling.

Cotton's next court appearance is scheduled for May 15.
