The Southwestern Oklahoma State University baseball team has been rewarded for their current six-game winning streak with a spot in the Central Region rankings, coming in at No. 10 in the latest rankings.

Atop the Central Region rankings is Central Missouri who is 17-3 and received all four first place votes. St. Cloud State, Missouri Western, Southern Arkansas and Minnesota State round out the top five in the rankings.

Arkansas Tech is the second team from the GAC in the rankings and they will be the Bulldogs opponent this weekend in Weatherford. SWOSU and ATU square off for a three-game series which includes a Friday doubleheader and Saturday single game and starts both days at 1 pm.

The key for the Bulldogs this season has been their pitching staff which currently has the lowest ERA in the GAC at 3.54. Shane Martin is anchoring the staff with a 6-1 record, tied for the conference lead in wins, and 3.26 ERA while other starters Cole Stephens and Calyn Young are a combined 7-5 in 15 total appearances.

SWOSU is also the fourth-best hitting team in the conference with a team batting average of .296. Seven players in the rotational lineup are hitting over .300, led by Kevin Cantrell who is hitting .365 and Cooper Chambers who is batting .340. The Bulldogs have also been stellar on defense with a .962 fielding percentage on the year, ranking third in the GAC.
