A Muskogee grandmother's life was forever changed before Christmas 2012, when a hit-and-run driver killed her daughter and one of her grandsons.

She wants the driver to know they haven't forgotten, and they still want the driver identified and caught.

Linda Borovetz, 64, can't talk about her daughter or grandson without crying, but she has to remain strong, because she is raising her daughter's two other sons, both of whom were hurt badly in the crash.

Borovetz just wants the driver brought to justice.

On Dec. 5 about 5 p.m., Tiffany and her three boys, Jordan, Dillon and C.J. were headed to Tulsa on the Muskogee Turnpike to do some Christmas shopping.

Tiffany's boyfriend and his mother were also with them.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol estimated Tiffany was driving about 60 mph in a 75-mph zone. A witness said it looked like the driver of a red, small car, was mad about the speed.

"He was tailgating her and came up beside her; she was in the passing lane," Borovetz said. "Since she wasn't going fast enough, he cut back in front of her and caused her to hit the concrete wall. OHP says she rolled three times."

The crash happened about 4 miles east of 193rd Street.

Tiffany, even though seatbelted in, died of massive head injury.

Seven-year-old C.J had unbuckled his belt and fallen asleep. He was thrown from the SUV and died about a week later.

The two other boys were seriously hurt, one of them crawled from the wreckage, found a cell phone and called his grandma.

"[He] said, ‘Nan, we've had a bad wreck, we've had a bad wreck. Mama's not moving. Mama's not moving,'" Borovetz said.

Borovetz and her other daughter raced to the scene, then she spent the next week in the hospital, bouncing between surgery waiting rooms and the Intensive Care Unit, trying to keep an eye on all three boys.

She got the two surviving boys home, planned a double funeral and then, Christmas was upon her.

Now she's raising Jordan and Dillon and waits until they go to school before she lets herself cry because she wants to be strong for them.

"I haven't raised kids in such a long time," Borovetz said. "Now, I've got these two babies to take care of. It's hard. It's a real life-changing experience."

But not for the driver, who is likely living life as if nothing changed.

A witness said he stopped long enough to see what he'd done, then took off.

Borovetz wants someone to turn him in. She wants some justice.

"God knows who he is," she said. "He knows."

Anyone with information about this crash is asked to call OHP at 918-683-3256.
