Funeral Scheduled For Edmond Soldier Killed In Afghanistan

EDMOND, Oklahoma -

The family of an Edmond soldier who was killed while serving in Afghanistan has scheduled a funeral for the fallen hero.

Rex Schad, 25, was killed Monday, March 11, in eastern Wardak province by a shooter dressed as an Afghan National Security Forces officer opened fire. Another soldier was also killed. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

Schad’s funeral will be held at LifeChurch in Edmond on Thursday, March 21, at 2 p.m.
