OKLAHOMA CITY -

Two transients contacted police early Monday morning after finding the body of a man behind a shopping center in southwest Oklahoma City.

Two people were walking near S.W. 59th Street and Pennsylvania around 4:30 a.m. when they spotted the body near the dumpster. Oklahoma City Police responded then called in a homicide team and detectives.

Police also aren't sure how the man died. They believe the deceased man had been near the dumpster for several hours, but they aren't sure if he was placed there, or if he was a homeless man who'd been sleeping there.

"We have a lot of transients all over Oklahoma City," said Oklahoma City Police Lt. Don Holland. "We don't even know if this man was a transient. We just know he was an older white male."

The transients who found the body are being questioned at a police station.

There are several businesses in the shopping center, including a donut shop and a two hair salons. Police are allowing those businesses to open while they investigate the scene.
