EDMOND, Oklahoma -
The high-profile
murder case surrounding the death of an Edmond baby has reached another
milestone without answers.
News 9 was the
first to share Jake Hedger's story. Now, two years have passed and still no
arrests in the case. Strangers are now rallying for justice.
Nine-month-old
Jake Hedger died from a massive head injury two years ago.
"Jake has become
just a part of my everyday life," said Paula Jennings.
Jennings did not
know Jake and has never met the family, but she became familiar with the story.

"It is personal
now. I want to know what happened to him and why no one has been charged with
his death," said Jennings.
Jake died of blunt
force head trauma in March 2011, one day after he stopped breathing at a
babysitter's house. Jennings says Edmond Investigators failed to question
the babysitter.
"That's still the
case and Jake is still dead. I mean, he is not around and there is nothing been
done," Jennings said,

The autopsy report
muddled the case because the medical examiner was unable to determine the
exact time of the injury. Although medical experts have given differing
opinions, the question has been and still is did the injury happen while in the
care of the babysitter or the parents?
Not even a grand
jury investigation brought about answers. So, Jennings and ‘Justice for Jake'
supporters began an online petition asking the attorney general to take another
look, and if not, have an out-of-state agency review the case.
"I can't even
imagine what it would be like for that family to have to fight their fight.
They need to grieve and they can't move past and move on with their life [because]
they don't have the resolution they need," said Jennings.
Thousands have
signed the petition since January and Jennings says she is hoping to get some
national attention on the case. News 9 could not immediately reach the
babysitter's attorney.
