NORMAN, Oklahoma -

Two people were sent to the hospital after a sanitation truck collided with a SUV in Norman Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the crash just before 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Berry Road and Nebraska Street.

According to Norman police, a sanitation truck driven by 41-year-old Jonathan Dora was going south on Berry, when it went left of center for an unknown reason. The truck then struck a Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 49-year-old Sherri Young, which was travel north at the time.

Both drivers were taken to Norman Regional Hospital. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, according to police.

The cause of the collision is undetermined at this point, but investigators say they have received information that indicates the driver of the truck may have suffered some sort of medical event before the crash.
