A Tulsa man was arrested early Sunday morning after leading police on a high-speed chase before crashing in a south Tulsa driveway.

Police reports indicate an officer attempted to stop the driver of a Dodge Neon that was swerving between the two eastbound lanes near East 51st Street and South Harvard Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

The driver took off, initiating a chase that hit speeds of up to 95 miles per hour in a 45 mile-per-hour zone, even driving in the wrong lane at times, according to the arrest report.

The chase ended when the driver crashed in the driveway of a house at 73rd Street and Gary Place.

Police said the driver then jumped out and ran for about 100 yards before he fell down and officers caught up to him. According to the arrest report, he refused the officer's command to put his hands behind his back.

The driver, Samuel Lee Allen, 28, was booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of eluding (endangering others), DUI, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, improper use of lane, failure to signal lane change, speeding 15 mph or more, driving on the wrong side of road, and driving under suspension.

The arrest report shows Allen's blood alcohol content was .16. Police say he was driving on a suspended Kansas driver's license.

A female passenger stayed in the vehicle and was questioned and released, police said.

Allen is in jail in lieu of $7,650 bond.
