DALLAS -

Oklahoma State's women's basketball team advanced to the semifinal round of the Big 12 Championship with a 59-54 win over Texas Tech on Saturday inside the American Airlines Center.

With the win, the Cowgirls improved to 21-7 on the year, while the Lady Raiders dropped to 21-10.

Both teams struggled offensively throughout the game with neither cracking double figures until the 11:38 mark. For the game, OSU shot just 38.6 percent, while the Tech was held to just a 34 percent shooting clip.

The Lady Raiders took their biggest lead of the game at 12-5 on a Jackie Patterson layup with 10:50 to go before OSU used a 10-0 run, including six points from junior Kendra Suttles, over the next three and a half minutes to take a lead it would not surrender.

The Cowgirls extended to their largest lead at 22-15 with 3:36 to go on a jumper from Suttles before taking a 24-19 lead into the break.

OSU never led by more than five in the second half with the Lady Raiders cutting the margin to one on six different occasions.

With 3:29 on the clock, Tech got a 3-pointer from Christine Hyde to climb within one before sophomore Liz Donohoe answered with a jumper for the Cowgirls.

OSU clung to a 53-52 lead with 38 seconds left when senior Toni Young grabbed an offensive rebound and converted a pair of free throws.

The leading free-throw shooter in the Big 12, Donohoe hit four free throws in the final 20 seconds to secure the victory.

Suttles paced OSU with 16 points, while freshman Brittney Martin added 14 points and seven steals.

Young logged her 35th career double-double, finishing with 11 points and 18 rebounds.

Junior Tiffany Bias added a game-high seven assists.

Tech's Kelsi Baker led all scorers with 17 points.
