OKLAHOMA CITY -

Firefighters found a man dead inside an apartment at Greystone Apartments around 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Crews quickly put out the fire that burned through two apartments. Firefighters say they found the man dead in a back bedroom on the apartment.

"Our investigators are working with Oklahoma city Police going through the steps so they can rule out anything suspicious," said Oklahoma City Battalion Chief Tony Davis.

At this point it's unclear how the man died. Andre Thompson heard the commotion.

"No one ever wants to see something tragic like this happen," said Thompson.

Thompson and 10 other neighbors were displaced from their apartments for several hours Friday afternoon while fire investigators and police evaluated the scene.

Firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation and the Medical Examiner will determine how the victim died.
