OKLAHOMA CITY -

A 14-year-old Oklahoma girl is hosting a father-daughter dance on March 15, in hopes of raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B & C.

Destiny Long founded an organization called "Living In Destiny." Long is hosting the "Daddy's Precious Princess Ball," which will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 15, at the Langston University's Oklahoma City campus.

Long is currently the reigning Gospel Music Workshop of America National Miss Christian Pre-Teen. Family members say Long uses this platform to uplift, inspire, and encourage youth to live for God and follow their dreams. Long is also working with the Oklahoma State Health Department on the National Initiative, Body and Soul Program, that encourage African Americans to eat more fruits and vegetables.

Long works with the Langston University Oklahoma City Cooperative Extension's JUMP Initiative (Jubilant United Movement and Power) to fight against child obesity. These are just a few initiatives that she is involved in, according to family members.

Long said she hopes to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis B & C by hosting the father-daughter dance event.

To RSVP for the event, call (405)-243-3589.
