The No. 10-ranked University of Oklahoma baseball team suffered a 6-1 loss at UT Arlington Tuesday night at Clay Gould Ballpark in Arlington, Texas.

Jack Mayfield scored the lone Sooners run in the top of the sixth inning. With one out, the senior earned a four-pitch walk, and advanced to second on a wild pitch. He reached third on a Max White flyout to center before Matt Oberste walked. A wild pitch scored Mayfield and advanced Oberste to second, but the OU offense couldn't score again.

Ethan Carnes suffered his first loss of the season and lasted just 2.0 innings. The junior allowed two runs, both earned on four hits with one strikeout. Ralph Garza Jr. pitched 2.1 innings in relief of Carnes and gave up three runs, while Evans pitched a clean 2.2 innings.

UTA scored the game's first runs with a two-run second inning. A single by Daniel Garcia to center field scored Justin Copeland from second, who reached base with a one-out single. One batter later, Travis Sibley singled to center, scoring Jake Pinchback, who walked and advanced to third on Garcia's single.

The Mavericks extended their lead by three runs in the fifth. After Sibley led off the inning with a flyout, Derek Miller walked and Ryan Walker singled to left. A Darien McLemore single scored Miller, and he advanced to second on an error by White. A Matt Shortall double scored McLemore and Walker before Evans relieved Garza.

Oklahoma closes Week 4 of the 2013 season with a trip to Los Angeles, visiting USC Friday before taking on UCLA and Notre Dame at Jackie Robinson Stadium on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
