Authorities say one person is dead after a house explosion in southwestern Oklahoma.

Cotton County Undersheriff David Johnston says the explosion happened Tuesday afternoon at a home in Temple. Johnston tells the Lawton Constitution that investigators haven't determined the cause of the blast yet -- and that propane may have been the source.

The victim's name has not yet been released, pending notification of his relatives.

Johnston says the state medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

Maria Arzola, who lives three blocks away, says she heard what sounded "like a bomb exploding" when the house went up in flames.

Authorities say no one else was injured and the damage was confined to the house.
