The National Basketball Association has released an official punishment for Serge Ibaka's low blow on Sunday against the Clippers and the news is about as good as the Thunder could have hoped for.

Stu Jackson, the NBA's executive vice president, announced on Tuesday that Ibaka has been fined $25,000 for intentionally chopping Clippers forward Blake Griffin in the groin late in the fourth quarter of Oklahoma City's victory in Los Angeles.

The league also upgraded Ibaka's Flagrant 1 foul to a Flagrant two, which means he should have been ejected from the game after the foul.

But the good news for OKC is that the league office decided Ibaka will not be suspended, which would certainly have impacted the Thunder this week with tough games on Tuesday against the Lakers and against the Knicks on Thursday at Madison Square Garden.

Ibaka is averaging a career-best 13.6 points this season and 7.8 rebounds with 2.9 blocks per game.
