Oklahoma City police say a 12-year-old boy will face felony charges after he brought a loaded firearm to school Monday.

News9.com broke the story just after noon Monday. Police say the 6th grader, who attends Sky Ranch Elementary in the Moore School District, showed two other students a loaded 45 caliber semi-automatic weapon in a school bathroom.

Police say one of those students notified teachers, who told the Principal.

Parents who came to pick up their kids after school reacted with shock.

"To have it happen to your school, I mean my 7-year-old daughter is in there," said parent Jason Smith.

"If there is anything to take from this is secure your weapons. This shouldn't happen," police Spokesman Dexter Nelson said.
