CIMARRON, Oklahoma -

An incident at the Cimarron Correctional Facility forced officials to place the prison on lockdown for a length of time, Sunday afternoon.

Authorities restricted all inmates top their cells after staff responded to inmates being disruptive in one of the housing units at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Facility management and staff isolated the inmates involved and the situation was been resolved quickly. No injuries to inmates or staff were reported and property damage was minimal.

The facility's emergency response team was activated and is on-site.

Puerto Rico and the Oklahoma Department of Corrections were notified of the incident. According to a release from the prison, the public safety was not at risk.

Cushing Police and the Payne County Sheriff's Department were notified and provided outside perimeter support while crews worked to resolve the situation.
