Arkansas Man Dead After Apparent Heart Attack While Driving On U.S. 412

Posted: Updated:

A 62-year-old Arkansas man is dead after suffering an apparent heart attack while driving on U.S. Highway 412 near Tulsa on Sunday afternoon, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

His 3-year-old granddaughter, of Pawnee, was the only passenger and was not harmed.

Roger Dale Jones, of Paris, Ark., who was driving a 2006 Ford F250, had a medical issue and the truck began drifting to the left before coming to a rest against the barrier cable in the median.

It happened about a half-mile east of the 209th West Avenue exit, an OHP report says.

Jones was wearing a seatbelt and the toddler was properly restrained.

After being transported to a Tulsa hospital, Jones was pronounced dead.
