EDMOND, Oklahoma -

Edmond Police say two people in a stolen truck were hurt after it rolled over on northbound Interstate 35 late Thursday night.

Police started chasing the truck around N.E. 33rd Street and Bryant after the man behind the wheel was spotted driving recklessly in the area.

The driver refused to stop and police chased him to I-35, but officers eventually called off the chase because it was putting other drivers at risk. Police say at one point, the suspect was driving on the shoulder of the highway and passing 18-wheelers.

After the chase was called off, the driver of the stolen truck lost control and the truck rolled over at I-35 and Danforth Road.

The male diver and female passenger were trapped until firefighters were able to free them. Both were taken to the hospital.

Their conditions aren't known at this time, and police have not yet publicly released their names.
