He's the newest member of the News 9 Weather Team. But David Payne is far from a rookie meteorologist with more than two decades of storm tracking experience.

David sat down with Kelly Ogle. He shared what first piqued his interest in severe weather, his scariest storm chasing moments and what his wife thinks of his dangerous job.

"I looked right and it was right out my window," David remembered. "I stopped, actually backed up. Let it go in front of me." Windshield wipers were pulled off. A lot of debris around me and I thought, 'that was close. Another 100 yards farther east and I would have been in trouble.'"

David rarely misses the mark and his accuracy just went up a few more notches, thanks to his new set of storm chasing wheels.

"It will have the most technology in any vehicle that I've ever sat in and chased with as far as the video streaming capabilities," David said. "It's loaded. There's not much it won't do and there's not too many places that it won't go."

David and all the News 9 storm trackers are ready for whatever mother nature brings them.
